You know how you ended this was brilliant right? You know that right? š
Well hello, Karen itās very nice to meet you. I hope more people like me in his world can distinguish a redundant meme or internet trend from someoneās real name. Iām proud of myself because when I saw your article title I didnāt think of ā A Karenā I saw you.
Now to be honest I did have an experience with a woman that was most definitely ā A Karenā at my local store before that name was associated with the privileged behavior. She was a repeat offender too. I remembered how abysmal her energy was. She sucked the life out of the store. She acted like no one else in the store existed and our time was worth nothing. She was beyond self important. By the second encounter I recognized I said to myself ā Oh God no not herā. Interesting thing is she looks actually like the Karen who shut down the family BBQ like it was civil unrest. Yes her.
Moral of the story is I had the ability to isolate her behavior as one individual. I didnāt put all white women in that category and I donāt think of that act when someone name isĀ Karen. I see the individual.
Itās amazing that it traveled all of the way to the other side of the world like that. Not that this is anywhere close what you have t deal with but in the late 90s when Tiger Woods rose to fame he looked exactly like me with a baseball cap. I used to always wear one.
So many strangers would say ā Do you you know who you look like?ā Or ā Hey Tigerā It was annoying. Heās younger than me and I think he looks older than me now. It faded because the mindless echo chamber moved on to a new topic.
So thanks for writing this interesting read, Karen. I apologize for writing an article in the comments but Iām known here for doing that. Writers inspire me to write.
I look forward to reading more.
