Wow. Salute to you for writing this. It was like one big exhale. The irony of this article is that you went backwards to go forward. You're advanced and are profuse with common sense. At one time I was the opposite of your list. I became addicted to social media in 2015 during my separation leading to divorce. I descended into looking for every ex, hanging on to every strangers word and I was scrolling on the hamster wheel of hell all day. The 2020 elections and the unrest in this country was my lowest point because FB took my emotions captive it was a mess. 2020 I also joined Medium. I was able to transfer that energy here to a place where my words are appreciated. I'm reading a book called the 12 arguments to delete your social media and it's eye opening. FB and IG are designed to keep you on all day. IG reels I would say is better for creative people to promote themselves. FB is useless. If you use it to keep I touch with family and friends cool. If you are in it more than an hour it will suck you deeper into it's rabbit hole. Realizing you are addicted is the first step. I admitted to addiction and it set me free. I still have my accounts but I don't mindlessly scroll anymore. Why? I have creative projects that I'm building that can take up my whole day and the dopamine is better. You my friend are an inspiration. Bravo.
