Wow. If we were wrapped up into ourselves before we read this ( like I was) It would get you out of you by the end. I was a little off today. You'll see in my writing. Anyway I can relate to this in a couple of ways. 1. I've been working in the health care field with people for over 20 years. 5 was at a nursing home. I built bonds with many seniors that I had to see transition. 2. I'm born in the USA and the way I talk was made fun of by people in my community that look like me. It made me very self conscious about publicly speaking. It's interesting that people outside of my community always had something positive to say about my " accent". They were intrigued by it. Even said I sounded like Denzel. I never understood why I received contrasting comments from two different cultures. It is very clear to me now. I'll let your imagination figure out the cultures I speak of. I always felt a connection to foreigners because i've always felt like a foreigner myself. I never felt felt like I belonged. Maybe that's why you recognized my pieces, God has put you here and anointed you to recognize the unseen and the unheard. You're a vessel and through you people don't feel invisible anymore. It's not just seniors that are multilingual that you see. You see everyone. Your stories are filled with humanity because you're a human being that has answered her calling. Bravo to you Yana.
