Ascend King Ascend
Chadwick Boseman lived a life of honor, purpose and service. A transcendent human being that transitioned with dignity.
I woke up in the middle of night and saw the news and it made me very sad. What a humble soul Chadwick was. He was one of those brothers you loved to see win because you felt like you’ve also won. When Black Panther came out it was historic and a shared euphoria. I remember myself and so many black people especially were smiling with a sense pride, hope, and an overwhelming joy. We finally got a superhero that looked like us. I know people of all races across the world loved him as well. I remember watching BP in Dolby squirming in my seat like an audio nerd because I was captivated by Ludwig Göransson’s score and Kendrick Lamar’s soundtrack. It was a sonic and cinematic experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Beyond the movie he carried himself like royalty as he spoke so eloquently at his Alma mater Howard University graduation. He also inspired and encouraged kids battling cancer while he was facing his own personal battle with the disease. He embodied brilliant actor, humanitarian, superhero and class act all in one.
Thank you for all that you gave this world and we were blessed to have you the time that we had you. You may not be here with us physically but your spirit shall be an indelible part of us all until we meet again.
Rest in power King Chadwick. You have the victory.
