A Birthday Reset
It’s 2022 and we’re at the halfway point of the year. Starting with gratitude, I’m glad I’m still here to breathe, think, create and write. I wanted to connect with my Medium family on the first day of summer, the summer solstice, on the day I was born. Is that ok with you all?

I wrote that quote with the writers and readers of Medium in mind. I started writing here in June of 2020. The world was shifting, and so was my life. The writing was calling me back, and I didn’t even know it. I have been producing and being a recording artist for 13 years.
I had written, but it was more in songwriting form on paper. I had immersed myself in this musical escape for a decade. Sonic inspiration is really what led me to written inspiration. I had filled my mind and spirit with so much hope, self-help, and motivation it put me on the road to attracting like minds to my world. One writer’s article captivated me, so I kept reading her work
Her words were a breadcrumb trail that put me on the path to get to Medium. This horse led me to this beautiful meadow of rolling hills, green grass, and blue skies, and when I kept following, the one horse became a whole community of wild horses. I remember reading articles that made me want to keep scrolling to find more and more.
When it was time to invest in becoming a member, I didn’t hesitate. I think I’ve found joy in reading, and that eventually ignited my metaphorical pen to start writing again. The rest is history. So I know it’s my birthday, but I want to share my day with you all. If I am that majestic snow-covered mountain scene with evergreen pines, the readers and writers are my still water reflection.
